Happy mothers day to all you mums!

Hi everyone, it's been ages, lots to tell... Damian finally got his QR uniform and has been doing really well in all his tests so far. His classmates all get along well and hang out with each other in their spare time. He is really loving the challenge and excitement each day is bringing him now. They've done shunting and all sorts of stuff in the yards and yes....he finally got a drive.
This is his class and instructor. (Damian had to crouch down so as not to obscure small people - they haven't kneecapped him!) He is writing an account of his experiences so far and once that's finished, I'll put it up here for you all to read.
On the home front. Bindi n Dan had a garage sale recently and asked if I had anything I wanted to sell, turns out I had rather a lot. It was a stunning sucess due to Bindi's organising, painting signs, advertising and putting it over the radio. We couldn't take money fast enough and made around $1,000 in total for the day with not too much left to donate, which was fantastic. Bindi had made sandwhiches which Dan toasted, for us, made coffees and looked after the kids all day, he was amazing! Marisol, Mark and Rick visited during the day which made the day fly by.
We had a gathering a couple of weeks ago when Damian came home for the weekend, so everyone could catch up with him. The next day it was also Shane n Marisol's wedding anniversary and Bindi's birthday. Leeanns birthday the following Wednesday too so lots to celebrate.
Bindi and I took the kids to the Tropical Zoo and had a fab day with them. Kylin had a feather which he snuggled for ages before it blew in beside this..............
4.5 meters, and he screamed because I wouldn't fetch it back for him. Bindi thinks I'm a wuss.
Damian is reading books to Kylin when he comes home and recording them onto casette tape so we can play them back each night before bed.
Dress ups seem to be the main focus at the moment and so here are a few recent ensembles

These black gloves have feathers on the fingertips ?!?!?!?!?

Pete n Deb sent us a parcel recently that included this trophy for Kylin for the best Highchair burnout (after we made the youtube video) He loves it and carries it everywhere.
Just something else to amuse the small people, a bath of water, food color, and foil scraps, add a few old yoghurt containers etc, and you get one soaked kid, but it's just all too much fun.
Kylin's progress with his star chart is really going well, he has almost earnt all his toys back too without any being taken away in the last week. So another trip to a different zoo this time, in Mareeba. Damian came home a day early so we planned it for when he was home. We had a really great day and the zoo is fantastic. We got to go into the enlosure with this rhino AND TOUCH HIM! he was taller than me, absolutely huge, I just loved him, his skin was really warm and he was very placid I could have stayed and watched him for hours. The keeper was great and obviously loved him too.
Kylin was obsessed with getting around as quick as we could, (although he loved the animals), as he had seen an old train in the car park and wanted to drive it like daddy. So we had heaps of time on this at the end of our visit as well.
Getting a few tips!
It's been a while since we posted so there are other things I'll try to remember them all quickly.........I got to have lunch with an old school friend recently, my friend Jacinta had a baby girl, Vicky found out she was pregnant, Shane and Marisol have moved house, Dan got a job in the mines and is living away, Mark returned from sea, Rick moved to Sydney, Big ears is currently jet setting around europe, Kylin has been accepted into St Theresa's for the start of his schooling next year, and......that's about it I think. Because I'm doing this quickly, I have a feeling I have forgotten something HUGE so there may be an add on post later.
Love to you all, hope all in your world is wonderful. xoxo
