WHOOOSH

That was the month wizzing past! Hope you have all had a good couple of months.

Since we last wrote, Kylin got really brave and let a hairdresser cut his hair. He was a little worried but she was great with him and tickled him a lot with the big brush afterwards.Kylin dressed as a pirate for Kristophers birthday :)

School sports day, Kylin had tonsillitis, but we went so he could run his race and then went home again. He loved it!

Crashed out in the tv room after his op.
The surgeon had injected local anaesthetic into his throat just before they woke him, so he had eaten 1/2 a tub of ice cream and drunk heaps of juice by this time.

Cameron stayed in overnight too and came over to Kylin's bed to play cause he didn't have a drip to cart around. They had a great time watching DVDs and playing with the magic beds making them bend and go up really high.

Morphine! The local had worn off and minutes before this he had been in awfull pain.
I don't look very stressed do I? Poor darling. We spent most of the night like this.

We spent most of the next day there and thought he'd have to be in another night, but we got the all clear and got home about 6pm. He has recovered well and had his post op check. So it's back to school tomorrow.

A mysterious and very cheeky power ranger/iron man came by to check on Kylin from time to time. :) I have to say a big thank you to Rhys for understanding that Kylin couldn't do all the things they normally do, and being happy to play gentle games so nicely with him while he recovered.

Kylin couldn't go in the pool for 3 weeks so I froze a heap of ice blocks with food color so he and Rhys could play Antarctic ice bergs in the shell pool with all the penguins and whales etc.

First outing since the op. We met Marisol and Jazz at the movies and saw G-Force.

This was his first time at the pictures and he really loved it. Might stick to "G" rated movies next time tho, it was a bit scary for him in parts, particularly that big and loud. :)
We met Jenny, Tracie and Saxyn afterwards and had lunch. Jenny came over to our house for a play on Saturday. She is Kylin's very first "carer" and he just loves her to bits. She has always been brilliant with him.

Damian is back home now and settling into life at the SPO. His mother came to stay with us in the week before Kylin went to hospital. Kylin loved having his grandma here. We are settling back into our old routine and kicking into entertaining mode just in time for summer. :)

Kylin has stopped snoring and his apnoea has dissapeared also. It will take a few more weeks for his sleeping patterns to settle but the earliest he is waking is 5am with little to no waking during the night - which is a HUGE improvement. We are both starting to feel the benefits of our uninterupted nights. In just a short time I have so much more energy and the headaches aren't nearly so bad. Kylin can also smell things properly now and some 'normal' smells like coffee, are quite strong to him. He is also having to adjust how he breathes in the pool. Previously he didn't really have to worry about water getting up his nose - we didn't know it - but it couldn't. Now he is having some problems but he'll sort it out soon enough. :) Hideous experience, but worth every second for the improvements we are seeing already.

The luscious Linc is visiting Cairns this week so we are meeting him at Mondos on Wednesday - can't wait can't wait can't wait to squish him :)
Our next visitor is Dermott who will be here sometime this month - we love having him here.

Then.......the biggie!

Andy, Nic and Joe visiting from the UK in December. They'll be in Melbourne until new year then they are coming to stay with us.....Wayne n Kimmy are coming with them so we will have a party house to start the new year.

The 10 days FLEW but were packed with beautiful people, experiences and lots and lots of partying, fun, and food. I left sad, but so very grateful to everyone. xxx

In other news, Damian now has a position in the SPO and will be moving back to Cairns in the next fortnight to start work again with the Navy, the position is a shore job and is for 6 months. Hopefully something suitable will become available with QR in Cairns during that time as he is on leave without pay from them until this happens. They haven't given him much time to get back here so it's going to be a stressfull time for him in the next month or so as he pretty much set up another home in Bluff and has the car down there too. It's going to be great to have the pressure off here and although he loves flying, I think he'll be relieved he doesn't have to make those flights every 4 or 5 weeks. (so will our bank account!)

There is a big party on the horizon me thinks!!

Navy ships n friendships

Hello again everyone! We have some new members of our Cairns family to tell you about. Nathan, Yvonne, Kristopher, n Manny and Al, Tina, n Rhys.

Kristopher and Rhys are in the same class as Kylin at school and their families are just gorgeous people - so you'll be hearing a bit about them from now on. :)

Another one!! This one was under madi's bed, thankfully for her it had expired. I must say though, it was softer than velvet to touch, icky, but true. That's a 20c piece, probably would have helped if I turned it over......Doh!

I have no idea why he was watching tv under an umbrella wearing nothing but undies and spiffy hat....but he looks troubled.

We were visited by the dust pixies! The whole house was covered in tiny hand and footprints thanks to Rhys n Kylin.

Just after collingwood's incredible win on the weekend - we actually got the game live.....we both have colds and had little sleep, looked and felt like c**p but we were still smilin......

After a yummy lunch on the esplinade we went with Tina and Rhys to see the US Essex at Trinity wharf this afternoon.

we got to see a helicopter taking off while we were there. Tina did her best spy work shortly after, managing to nail a shot of the planes on the pointy end.

Damian is coming up on the train tomorrow for a week and Kylin is on school holidays so there'll be lots of adventures in the next few days I feel. We now have a referral to an ENT specialist for Kylin's snoring/tiredness but can't get in until October!! Never mind at least something will get done for him eventually.

Hello everyone, it's been ages again so there are loads of photos..... (Just for something different)

This was my mothers day present :) We had Bindi, Dan, Shane, Marisol and children come over for lunch and had a fab day. Damian and boo went to the go cart track.
Too much fun!

We went to the school fete, the kids had their hair colored. Jazzmin had her first sleepover here without mummy and daddy - there wasn't much sleeping but they both had heaps of fun.

Kylin is riding his bike part way to school now and is learning all about mad drivers.

The monster trucks came to the school one arvo - the kids loved it - the mums were a bit worried they came so close to the "barrier"

Kylin's birthday was on a Wednesday, so after school we had a mini star party.

At assembly the next day, all the birthday kids for that week were called out to the front, the assembly sang the birthday song to them and the vice principle gave them a sticker. Kylin was BEAMING. Jazzmin is there too bathed in sunshine. When the birthday kids were told to go sit down, the vice principle started talking and Kylin said "excuse me" and interupted him - the V.P. bent down, Kylin patted his shoulder and said "thank you". EVERYONE just melted and we were so proud of him.

Party time!~ We had his party the following Saturday, in the playground near home.

As well as his close friends, Kylin invited his entire class!

For 3 hours they ran, played and had a great morning.

Jazzmin's party the next day - Jazzmin looked just gorgeous and they had a very talented face painter who managed to turn Kylin into a transformer.

Too beautiful - I could just eat him!

Monday was a holiday here so a big group of us met at the yacht club for lunch.

And Kylin had a big surprise because his band turned up - we didn't know they were coming. We hadn't taken Ky's microphone or guitar, but Jock came to the rescue with a mike and stand for him.
