Phew what a busy couple of weeks!

Hello everyone, I hope you are happy and well. I have sooo much to tell you so lets go.... Well we went to the circus and I really loved it, although I couldn't understand why I couldn't go and pat the animals. The show went for 2 hours which is a long time for me to sit in one place, but I was very good and had a fantastic time. At intermission they had pony rides for us kids, mummy thought I would be too scared, but I shocked them both and absolutely loved it, I couldn't stop patting the horsey, he was lovely and soft. Then my next adventure was to day care. Mummy made me a t-shirt so they could all get used to my name. I had a brand new bag too because I need lots of stuff if I'm there all day. I was really excited and when mummy left I didn't cry or anything! I had a great time and my Jenny came at lunch time just when I was getting a bit teary, so we had lunch together and I was ok then. I slept for ages and was sooooo excited to see mummy when she came to get me.
Mummy was a bit lost without me but kept herself busy by hunting around the second hand stores for a shell and some sand and made me a sandpit. I am getting very good at making sandcastles by myself now.
This was just a nice photo, I rarely sit still for photo's so they're usually all blurry.
Mummy and the divine Miss M. took us for a walk along the esplinade and then we all had a buffet lunch at the Cairns International. Here I am pinching Jazzmins' sandwhich :)
The next episode in the amazing adventures of Kylin, found me at Cheeky Monkey. Well, what can we say? Ummm I really really liked the mirror - really - The lovely Miss Juanita tried everything to get me to join in with the group and succeeded once......
But this is what I spent the entire 30mins doing instead - I really loved that mirror - really! I have one more chance next week to join in, otherwise we might have to find something else to do because the other kids follow me and don't do anything either - oooppps!
The other mummy's were giving my mummy the 'death' stare - mummy thinks they need to lighten up!
We had a lovely surprise to have mummy's friend Damien rock up on our doorstep. Damien was travelling up north with his family when their car broke down - we're talking need a new motor broke down - so he came down with the car and stayed with us for a few days. I loved having someone else to play with and he let me come in and wake him up in the mornings. He arrived just in time to join in our Saturday morning bbq, which he was rather impressed with. He helped Daddy with re-modelling part of the back yard, and we all pointed at the finished product with passion and emotion - it looks ace! We will be seeing them all when they come back down from the Cape later next month.
Daddy needed mummy to help him tidy up the bomb site....er...shed and it has now been "Karenfied" a term in common usage up here. It is nothing short of a miracle and if we had a pool room, it'd be goin straight there :)
I have a lovely little baby tiger cub toy that mummy n daddy brought for me. He growls and when he drinks from his bottle he sometimes burps - this sends me into protracted hysterics - so of course, mummy is addicted to feeding it just to hear me collapse with laughter. He sleeps on my bed and I just love him!
Today there was no bbq but Rick came over and brought yummy stuff to eat for morning tea, then mummy took me to muddys on the esplinade to welcome the new Navy exchange people from the U.K. (who's names elude me at this point) and also to say goodby to Mark and Jo who are returning home on Monday. I wasn't supposed to get wet but - well - I'm a kid and have no concept of cold, it was just too irresistable. I had a lovely time and ran and ran and ran.
In other news, Mummy had a surprise visit from Wayne (Hoban) on Thursday night, he was in Cairns for work and dropped in to say hi. Damian is in Brisbane at the moment but Wayne and mummy had dinner and a great catch up. It was really lovely to see him again, life down south obviously agrees with him, he looks fantastic and is really happy. Scott returned from sea today and we are going to Perottas for coffee with him tomorrow morning because on Monday, he is flying out to Venice - poor poppet - how exciting! Mummy is very envious!
It is now less than 2 weeks before mummys friend arrives from California to stay for a week. It's been 17 years since they last saw each other and have kept in contact all that time with calls or e-mails - mummy is so excited she can hardly breath :)
Well, I think that's it - hope everything is great in your world.
Love and kisses - Kylin (aka fluff magnet) xoxo
Big squishes and hugs also to our little Sooz who's Nan passed away during the week. We're thinkin of you honey xo

Bits n Pieces

Hello again everyone,
slowly but surely mummy is winning the battle of the photographic implements that continue to be petulant and hard to get along with. These - finally - are photos from mummy's phone. The "after sales service" offered by the store we got the phone from, consisted of a help desk number scribbled on a sticky note. Nice! It was only after mummy googled the phone details and stumbled across a chat board where people were having the same problems with their phones, that mummy learned that she needed a memory card in the phone to transfer the photos to the computer. HA! So, the pompous eeediot who waved the USB cable at mummy and sarcastically intoned "you use this bit" was wrong - if he still worked there, mummy would go back and do things to that boy - however, let us not dwell on such painfull matters and check out the photos!
This is Polar n Madi waiting for daddy to come home. Mummy hired me a bubble car one day when we went shopping,
in the first shop mummy was buying some bangles for the luscious girls, and I fell asleep,
so our huge shopping trip was cut very short.
We often meet daddy for lunch and I get soooo excited when I see him,
here I'm playing "boo" with his glasses
At the pirate ship in the little wiggly boat
Playing racing cars with daddy
Off on an adventure with my new sunnies
Just being cute and cheeky for mummy
Blowing bubbles in the bath - too much fun
So that's it for the phone photos. (hope they were worth it)
Now for the news.............
This is Jenny
Jenny has looked after me for ages now when mummy goes bowling. She helped me get over my seperation anxiety and helps me make lots of cool stuff. She is patient and kind and always gives me lots of kisses and cuddles. I really love going to play with her! But Jenny is leaving the bowling creche this week and going to work at a privately run day care centre. NOOOOOOOO!
I am really really going to miss her. But things happen for a reason and mummy went to the day care centre and they were really lovely and had a vacancy for me! They employ older women and the place is like a (young-ish) nanna land, it's fantastic. They blow bubbles for the kids and roll around on the floor with them, much more interactive and fun. No flashy uniforms and intro packs, the centre needs cosmetic work but we're not paying for that - we're paying for people to care for me and they seem just like mummys kinder teachers, relaxed and smiley and loving. My new carer will be Pauline, when I met her she sat on the floor in front of me and said hi and that she'd love for me to come and visit her, and when we left she put her arm around me and gave me a kiss. Jenny will see me when I'm there because she does the lunch relief and will fill in wherever she's needed. Mummy and daddy are so happy that they have found somewhere nice for me where they will take the time to treat me as an individual and not expect me to be like every other kid. ABC told mummy I was emotionally immature - HA! If some kid goes to time out or is upset I sit with them or put my arm around them and ask them if they are ok - I am empathetic and that's much better than biting and hitting and being horrible - which apparently is "normal" for my age! I was a hassle to them because I got really upset when mummy left and they didn't have time for that. Mummy is coming with me tomorrow and we will have a couple of hours at my new centre, and on Tuesday we will have a go at leaving me, but if I get too upset, they will ring mummy and she can come back and stay with me - little little steps. Yayyyy!
In other news, we are still freezing. We went out to Mondos for dinner on Tuesday night, just lovely! We are working with mummys hairdresser to finally let him give me a haircut with the clippers. I have visited Byron a couple of times now, he puts me in a special chair, and gives me a cape, then he makes it rain on my head (mist bottle) and lets me touch the clippers when they are on. That's all fine but I still wont let him near my head with them - but that's ok - Byron is really cool and we just call in when we are going past, if he has the time we go through the steps to get me familiar with the place and him and eventually, it'll happen. Again - little little steps.
On Wednesday morning I start at Cheeky Monkey which is a 40 min kindy group class that does singing and dancing which I love doing at home. It's a huge thing up here and if the kids want to participate in little performances they can but they don't have to, It's not a formal thing just a fun activity to teach us songs, movement and rhythm. No parents allowed in the class as us little kids get easily distracted so there may not be any photos but mummy will let you know how I'm going with it. AND.................
guess what we are doing today?
After my sleep this afternoon, we are going to the circus!!
We have driven past it and seen the animals, and although I don't really know what a circus is, I am really really excited about going and keep asking if we can go now.
So - lots happening and daddy has slept in for long enough now so mummy is going to let me out to jump on him. Hope you are all happy and well - hope this wasn't too long winded for you all - Big squishes and love from - Kylin. xoxoxoxo

My Strawberries!!

Hi again everyone, thanks to all of you who have recently let mummy know how much you enjoy getting these updates. I have had a very exciting week or two although our video camera is giving mummy the irits and is about to become extinct if it doesn't start behaving soon. This is me in our "frog hospital box" (a collection box for the neighbours to leave donations and materials for our frog hospital) I found I could crawl right through it and here I am practicing to be a street person - It really was quite comfy. I have a new camera - smile!
(As you can see we are getting wild variations in the picture quality when the vid does work)
I fell out of a different box smack onto the floor and gave myself a fat lip - and mummy a heart attack - there was so much blood, mummy thought i'd knocked out a tooth. I had to have pain killers and because I was so grumpy and snuggly on Friday night, mummy and daddy decided to have the Sat. breakky BBQ at our house so I could recover properly at home.
Rick and Daddy played for ages with me in my room doing " boy stuff" after breakky was done. Scott came too with his new car - Very nice! He's just a little bit chuffed with it.

On Sunday, we all went down to the beach at Palm Cove and had a picnic lunch. I couldn't decide what to do first, I was sooooo excited. We made loads of sandcastles which I kept stomping on.

I kept watch for dolphins but we didn't see any. I perved on lots of nice girls and when I was walking with mummy, fully turned around to check out some honeys walking the other way.

I found treasures, made footprints and threw sand everywhere, it was just too much fun.

GET OUT OF IT DADDY - THEY'RE MY STRAWBERRIES!!!!!!!

Mummy put me in special fishy pants (swim nappy) and I got all upset when they got wet. I went from being too scared to get my toes wet, to rolling around in the shallow bits and running into the "waves" I lasted until 2pm before the cranky monster came to visit and I crashed out so heavily in the car that mummy had to sit in the back and hold my head up so I could still breath.
It has been so incredibly cold here particularly at night, mummy wrote a poem to cheer everyone up that got read out on the radio this morning - yayyy mummy!
Our poor Polar is sick today and had to go to the vet this morning, he is very sad and mummy is giving him lots of extra attention today. Madi is sitting with him and the cat is......well.......still here :(
Hope all is happy and well in your world. Love and hugs and sandy footprints to you all - Kylin xo
